Bowl O Blocks

Bowl O Blocks | 16 x 16 | oil on panel

I've been putting things in bowls for sometime now, but the objects have all been round and shiny, so I thought I'd try something new and use wooden blocks for a change. I think they worked.

Now my problem is determining what to paint next. I've got a composition that I've been saving for a while now, but I'm not sure how it would be received. It's an image of this really beefy electric drill I borrowed from my buddy Jeff Cohen. It's very cool looking, but there's not much color in the image, and I fear it may have limited appeal to collectors. I think I may just do it anyway.

  1. I appreciate and love your work.

Tools must to appeal to the fans of industrial style. The world could use more tool paintings. Have you considered old steel piping, the type in old factories that are sent to the junk yard sold for scrap?

  2. It really looks weird at first sight, but actually at a closer look, it's just a great idea. It's like putting children together with a serious thing, such as a plain glass bowl. It's mixing something drastically together, but as we can see, it works just fine. Great artwort by the way! Love it. Abstract Canvas Paintings

  4. I love the blocks in the bowl. And for what it's worth, I'm sure the drill will be amazing . . . go for it! :)

  5. I would've never thought a loaf of bread would be anything fantastic either, but you've proven that wrong; if you think it will be cool to paint, then it most likely will turn into a cool painting!

  10. I hope you have reconsidered and painted the drill - if it's interesting to you, then your efforts will never be in vain, even if it does not appeal to your current collectors. Paint, man!

  11. Unique idea to make such art, if you will just look at it, it's just so simple and plain, but all you need is to expand your creativity and imagination.
