PB&J

PB&J
oil on plywood panel
6'' x 6"

I love painting this little Smuckers jelly jar, so here it is once again. I think I will probably do it on a large scale one of these days. Really get into the embossing of the name into the glass, and recreate the label on the front. I like this idea a lot.

  1. These are absolutely stunning pieces!
Your work has a "weight" to it that i've rarely encountered in painting...especially in photo realism...i hate to use that term, because, for me, your work has an ethereal quality that goes beyond that...it is a genuine pleasure to discover your work. glad you "discovered" the venue of the internet for your work. looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  2. Wow, this is fabulous. I'm stunned by how small it is. Tiny brush?
Do you use photographs or do you work from life?

  3. Thanks all. Ambera to answer your question. I do use photographs. I'll usually shoot 60 to 100 images of each subject. Then spend a couple of days cropping and re-cropping them until I come up with a few compositions that I like.

  4. I love the weight and stillness that the knife creates in this piece.
